Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate court yesterday sentenced BNP leader Robiul Alam Robi and nine others to 2.5 years jail in a sabotage case filed with city’s Kalabagan Thana in 2013.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jasim also fined them Taka 10,000, in default, to suffer six months more in jail.
The other convicts of the case are- Shah Alam Soikat, Jahirul Haque Dina, Mozammel Haque Babu, Za-kir Hossain, Shahin, Noman, Kamruzzaman Choudhury Masud, Elin and Shahidul Haque.
According to the case, on October 26, 2013, Kalabagan Thana Sub-Inspector AFM Moniruzzamana filed a case against a group of people for holding unlawful assembly and blasting cocktail bombs targeting police.
Charge sheet was pressed against them on December 30, 2014.
