Rajshahi Stars continuing training in full swing

Sports Reporter:

Bangladesh Women’s Football League champions Rajshahi Stars FC are stepping up their preparations ahead of their debut in the AFC Women’s Champions League, Asia’s premier women’s club competition.
The Rajshahi side held its third training session at Kamalapur Stadium on Tuesday as they prepare for the preliminary stage, which will begin in Malaysia on August 17.
The players trained for an extended period under head coach Golam Robbani Choton despite the sunny weather.
While the first two sessions focused on physical fitness and team coordination, Tuesday’s training centred on match situations, passing, positioning and coordination in attack. Nepalese defender Bimala B.K. has also arrived in Dhaka and joined the squad.
Assistant coach Md. Zahir Iqbal said the team was optimistic about its preparations and was continuing to train according to its plans without putting additional pressure on the players.
Alpi Akter, Rajshahi Stars’ top scorer in the last Women’s Football League, is expected to play a key role in attack. She said her goal was to perform to the best of her ability on the Asian stage.
