Cumilla: July 18, 2026: A huge amount of smuggled drugs worth Tk 510.83 million has been destroyed by Cumilla BGB Battalion 10 at the BGB headquarters station in Kotbari area of Cumilla on Tuesday.
BGB sources said that Cumilla Battalion (10 BGB) conducted about 20,000 operations from October 1, 2023 to January 10, 2026 and Sultanpur Battalion (60 BGB) from July 1, 2022 to March 31, 2026 and seized these drugs. The drugs recovered in various operations without owners were collected and de-stroyed under the leadership of Sarail Region Sector Commander Brigadier General Md. Saiful Islam Chowdhury.
The drugs destroyed included 34,235 bottles of Indian Phensedyl, 34,172 bottles of Scuff Syrup, 18,049 bottles of Indian beer, 84,958 bottles of Indian whiskey, 23,931 kg of Indian marijuana, 310,548 pieces of Yaba tablets, 24.5 liters of open liquor, 13,338 IP injections, 152,372 Senegra tablets, 28,800 Target tablets, 670,040 Nimosolide tablets, 862,350 Ciproheptadil tablets, 442,101 Tapentadol tablets, 238 bot-tles of Herbech Rate (Unani), 4 bottles of Formula Syrup, 19,210 Dexone tablets, 2,280 bottles of Lab Ginseng, 255,62 Cynic Z, 700 Dazigra, 335 Rutarek, 30,050 packets of cigarettes, 240 packets of jorda and 40 packets of bidi.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rosy Akhter, Sarail Region Sector Commander Brigadier General Md. Sai-ful Islam Chowdhury, senior officials of 10 BGB and 60 BGB were present at the event.
