Prime Minister Tarique Rahman returned to Dhaka on Friday night, wrapping up his maiden two-nation state visit to Malaysia and China.
The China Southern Airlines flight carrying the Prime Minister landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 7:45pm.
BNP Secretary General and Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, along with cabinet members and senior party leaders, received the Prime Minister at the airport.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by his wife Dr Zubaida Rahman, and other members of his entourage.
Earlier in the day, they departed Beijing for Dhaka at around 5:15pm local time.
The Prime Minister began his tour with a state visit to Malaysia on 21 June, where he attended a series of official engagements. On 22 June, he travelled to Dalian, China, aboard a special Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
During his visit to China, the Prime Minister held bilateral meetings with Chinese leaders, including Premier Li Qiang and President Xi Jinping, and attended several important engagements aimed at strengthening bilateral relations.
Bangladesh and China also signed 13 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and announced a number of cooperation initiatives covering trade, investment, infrastructure, technology and other sectors during the visit.
