Rajshahi: Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu yesterday said that Rajshahi city is a place of pride for education
“Not only in Bangladesh, but across this subcontinent, Rajshahi’s name is spoken with great honor for the spread of education,” he said.
The minister made these remarks this afternoon while delivering his speech as the chief guest at a recep-tion and scholarship award ceremony for meritorious students, organized by the Kindergarten Associa-tion at Rajshahi Teachers’ Training College.
It is true that teachers can restore the dignity of an educational institution and help develop children’s hidden talents, Minu said, adding, “The contribution of parents and teachers behind a child’s success is undeniable.”
The program was presided over by Rafiq Alam, president of the Bangladesh Kindergarten Association, Rajshahi Metropolitan Branch.
Special guests in attendance were Professor Dr. Bishwajit Banerjee, principal of Rajshahi Government Teachers’ Training College; Md. Hayatuzzaman Farhad, retired assistant professor of Godagari Women’s Degree College; and Md. Mizanur Rahman, law affairs secretary of the central committee of the Bangla-desh Kindergarten Association.
Kindergarten students and their guardians participated in the event.
Later, the Land Minister handed over crests and prize money to the meritorious students.
