29,315 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims reach Saudi Arabia, two die

A total of 29,315 Bangladeshi pilgrims have reached Saudi Arabia on 73 flights since the start of Hajj operations, according to the latest Hajj bulletin released on Friday.

So far, two Bangladeshi pilgrims have died while performing Hajj this year. They are Md Abul Kashem from Tangail Sadar and Md Naim Uddin Mondol from Joypurhat Sadar.

The official Hajj flight operations from Bangladesh began on 18 April, when the first dedicated flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines departed with 419 pilgrims on board.

The outbound Hajj flights are scheduled to continue until 21 May, while return flights will begin on 30 May and conclude on 30 June.

This year, 5,565 pilgrims are set to perform Hajj under government arrangements, while 73,935 will travel under private management.
