Seven more children have died in the ongoing measles outbreak, including four with confirmed measles infection, said an update released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Friday.
The total death toll has hit 240 in just about 40 days since 15 March, when the outbreak officially started.
During 8am Thursday-8am Friday, four children died from measles, and three more from measles-like symptoms.
Over the same period, 172 people were diagnosed with measles, and 1,215 others with related symptoms.
Since 15 March, 4,231 people have been diagnosed with measles, and 29,549 others with related symptoms. Among the diagnosed cases, 19,705 patients have been admitted to hospitals, and 16,527 have been discharged following recovery.
