The Capstone Course-2026, an intensive three-week strategic leadership programme from 5 April to 23 April has concluded at the National Defence College (NDC) in the capital.
Chief of the Army Staff of Bangladesh Army Gen Waker-Uz-Zaman graced the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest and distributed certificates among the Capstone Fellows, said an ISPR press release.
A total of 45 fellows including parliamentarians, senior military and police officers, eminent academics, senior doctors, senior government and non-governmental officers, diplomats and corporate leaders participated in the course.
In his address, Gen Waker congratulated all the fellows on their successful completion of the course. He urged all the fellows to uphold the constitutional responsibilities, strengthen national security and pursue the sustainable development of Bangladesh.
Lt Gen Md Faizur Rahman, commandant of the NDC, emphasised the importance of informed dialogue and consensus-building on matters of national importance. The Fellows’ active, thoughtful and respectful engagement throughout the course has broadened strategic understanding and strengthened a national network of cross-sector leadership.
The Capstone Course, one of the NDC’s flagship programmes, is designed to build strategic awareness, foster critical thinking, promote interdisciplinary cooperation and develop a shared understanding of national security and development issues across the leadership spheres in the country.
The closing ceremony was attended by senior military and civil officials, faculty and staff from the National Defence College and dignitaries from the Armed Forces and other national institutions.
