ICT-2 asks to produce Mamun Khaled, Masud Uddin Apr 7

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 yesterday ordered authorities to produce former director general (DG) of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) Lt Gen (Retd) Sheikh Mamun Khaled and former Feni-3 lawmaker Lt Gen (Retd) Masud Uddin Chowdhury before the tribunal on April 7.
The tribunal, led by Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, passed the order following prosecution pleas to show Khaled arrested in a case over enforced disappearance and Chowdhury in a case filed over alleged mass killings during the July Mass Uprising.
Chief Prosecutor Md Aminul Islam placed the petitions before the court.
Confirming the development to reporters, prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim said the prosecution sub-mitted the petitions to ICT-2 seeking the orders.
Earlier, a team of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) detained Masud Uddin Chowdhury during a raid at Baridhara DOHS in the capital on March 23.
Former DGFI Chief Lt Gen (Retd) Sheikh Mamun Khaled was arrested from his residence in Mirpur DOHS on the night of March 25 last.
