PM distributes goats among beggars to support rehab

A Correspondent:

Dinajpur: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman yesterday distributed Black Bengal goats among beggars as part of a government initiative aimed at rehabilitating people engaged in begging and creating alternative employment opportunities for them.
The premier handed over 20 goats to the beggars at a function at the Dinajpur Circuit House ground this afternoon under the “Rehabilitation and Alternative Employment Programme for People Engaged in Begging” being implemented by the Department of Social Services.
LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Social Welfare Minister Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, Water Resources Minister Shahiduddin Chowdhury Anee, Disaster Management, Relief Minis-ter Asadul Habib Dulu, State Minister for Water Resources Forhad Hossain Azad and Jatiya Sangsad Whip Md Akhtaruzzaman Mia were present on the occasion, among others.
