Minister asks to make aviation, tourism visible, profitable

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam Rita yesterday called on officials to work with dedication to implement the Election Manifesto 2026, outlining short-, medium- and long-term plans to bring visible changes to the civil aviation and tourism sector to make it profitable.
The directives came at a meeting held at the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism to review imple-mentation of the National Commitment (Election Manifesto 2026), said an official handout here.
Addressing the officials, the minister said, “Work with enthusiasm so that we can advance the vision and thoughts of our Hon’ble Prime Minister.”
She instructed that the commitments relating to civil aviation and tourism be categorised into short-, medium- and long-term targets to ensure effective and time-bound implementation.
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M. Rashiduzzaman Millat said visible changes must be achieved in the sector within the next six months. He stressed the importance of prudent financial man-agement in executing the pledged programs.
Secretary of the ministry Ms Nasrin Jahan, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Air Vice Marshal Md Mostafa Mahmud Siddiq, and senior officials of the ministry and its sub-ordinate agencies were present at the meeting.
