DSCC launches anti mosquito drive

In response to a recent surge in mosquito infestation, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has launched a month-long special cleanliness and crash program aimed at mosquito control.
DSCC Administrator Abdus Salam yesterday formally launched the campaign at Ward no 71 and 72.
State Minister for Road Transport and Highways Division and Railways Ministry Habibur Rashid attend-ed the event as special guest.
Inaugurating the drive Abdus Salam said month-long special cleanliness and crash program has been launched to strengthen mosquito control efforts. To ensure transparency and accountability, a four-tier monitoring system has been introduced at different levels.
He also said local Imams will be engaged to raise public awareness alongside making in the affected are-as.
He warned that if the residents fail to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds, mobile courts will be con-ducted by the executive magistrates.
The administrator urged the local Members of Parliament (MPs) and political leaders to actively partici-pate in the drive.
State Minister Habibur Rashid emphasized on the need for special attention to underdeveloped and un-derserved areas of the city.
