Education Adviser ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon has said that police will question teenagers found roaming unnecessarily on the streets at night, as part of efforts to maintain discipline and ensure public safety.
He made the remarks on Friday while exchanging views with local administrative officials in his electoral constituency in Chandpur’s Kachua Upazila.
The adviser said that unnecessary loitering by adolescents at night must be stopped.
“From now on, if teenagers are found roaming on the streets at night, the police will question them. If there is any constitutional violation, we will look into it later,” he said.
During the meeting, Milon also issued a stern warning against corruption among government officials and employees.
He said those who cannot remain free from corruption should seek transfer to other places.
“I will never engage in corruption in my life, nor will I allow anyone else to do so. This is my promise,” he said.
He further added, “Those who cannot stand by this promise may kindly transfer elsewhere. Otherwise, inform me and I will arrange a transfer to a suitable place. But I will keep this place clean and pure.”
Among those present at the meeting were Chandpur Deputy Commissioner Md Nazmul Islam Sarkar, Superintendent of Police Rabiul Hasan, Kachua Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mahmudul Hasan Russell, Officer-in-Charge of the local police station Borhan Uddin, and other officials from various government departments.
