Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has congratulated National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam on his party’s success in the 13 national parliamentary elections.
“The courage, determination and confidence with which the NCP participated in the 13th national par-liament elections under your leadership will be marked as a significant chapter in the democratic history of Bangladesh,” he said in a message sent to Nahid Islam yesterday.
As a new political party born only a year ago in the context of the 2024 student–people uprising, con-testing 30 seats, securing victory in six of them, and mounting intense and respectable competition in several others is an extraordinary achievement, the Chief Adviser said.
Prof Yunus noted that this success is not merely a matter of electoral statistics; it is a powerful expres-sion of the confidence, dreams, and democratic spirit of the younger generation.
“The memories of those turbulent days of 2024 remain vivid in our minds. Your leadership, courage, and indomitable morale made that movement disciplined and goal-oriented,” he said.
“The sacrifices and firm stance of your fellow fighters have awakened a deep sense of gratitude in the heart of the nation. Personally, and on behalf of the nation, I express my profound respect and gratitude to all of you,” the Chief Adviser added.
