BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Friday said he will not allow punishment against a single innocent activist of Awami League, adding that only the criminals of the now banned party will face justice.
He made the remark while electioneering at Sheltihari Bazar, Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila as a candidate from the Thakurgaon-1 constituency in the 12 February general elections.
Awami League Chief “Madam Hasina” has done a good job by relocating to India, but has left her activists in grave danger in Bangladesh, Fakhrul said.
However, BNP stands beside the innocent AL activists, he added.
He called on voters from all religious backgrounds to vote for BNP and support the party in developing the locality.
He also referred to a particular political party that has suddenly emerged in the front-line. This party collaborated with the Pakistani occupying forces in the 1971 Liberation War, to oppose the independence of Bangladesh.
If the party that opposed Bangladesh’s birth is voted to power, this country would not survive, Fakhrul said urging people to avoid voting for the party.
