Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant Monir Haider was present at the meeting, said the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing yesterday.
According to the press wing, at the invitation of the Bangladesh government, the European Union has deployed an Election Observation Mission to observe the parliamentary election slated for February 12.

They informed that the core team of the EU EOM, consisting of nearly 200 observers and 11 analysts, arrived in Dhaka on December 29, 2025.
The EU EOM officials further stated that from January 17, 56 long-term observers will be deployed across Bangladesh. These observers will monitor the electoral process in their designated areas and regu-larly report their findings to the core team.
Ahead of election day, 90 short-term observers will join the mission to observe polling, vote counting, and the tabulation of results, they said, adding, in addition, several short-term observers from the Euro-pean Union’s diplomatic community and partner countries will also join the mission.
The EU EOM members said that, following the European Union’s established observation methodology, the mission will present an evidence-based, comprehensive, and impartial assessment of the entire elec-toral process.
They also informed that the mission will release its preliminary report and hold a press conference in Dhaka on February 14.
This report would be disseminated through the mission’s website and social media platforms.
After the completion of the entire electoral process, the EU EOM members said they will submit a de-tailed final report to the relevant stakeholders.
The report will include recommendations aimed at improving future electoral processes and will be pub-lished on the mission’s website.
