Man dies as train hits a pickup van in Khulna

Khulna: A 60-year-old man was killed and another hurt as a train crashed into a pickup van on a level crossing in Gilatola Afil Gate area of Khulna early Monday.
The deceased was identified as Afzal Hossain, son of Munsur Ali of Gopalganj’s Kashiani Upazila and helper of the pickup van.
Besides, driver of the vehicle Nur Sheikh, 40, suffered serious injuries.
The Khulna-bound Chilahati train crashed into the pickup van around 4 am, leaving its helper dead on the spot, said Molla Khabir Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Khulna Railway Police Station.
On information, police recovered the body and sent the injured driver to Khulna Medical College Hospi-tal for treatment.
