Staff Reporter:

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin yesterday sought media support to hold a trans-parent, fair and credible national election.
“We want to hold a transparent and clean election. For that, we need the cooperation of the media,” he said.
The CEC made these remarks while presiding over a dialogue with journalists from electronic media around 10.30 am at the Election Commission Secretariat in the capital.
“We want to move forward with transparency. Our goal is an election that is free, fair, and acceptable to all. We want the world to witness it. We want this election to be as clean as a mirror,” the CEC said.
Highlighting the role of media, the CEC said, “You are our partners. You can play a vital role in coun-tering misinformation and disinformation. We value your advice and cooperation in our efforts to hold a participatory, peaceful and credible election.”
The dialogue was attended by Election Commissioners and senior EC officials.
As part of its preparations for the 13th National Parliament Election, the EC is engaging key stakehold-ers through a series of dialogues.
According to EC Secretariat Director (Public Relations) and Information Officer Md. Ruhul Amin Mol-lik, the commission will hold a separate session with print media journalists yesterday from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
On Tuesday, the EC will exchange views with election experts from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, followed by a meeting with women leaders from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm at the same venue.
