“We are working to ensure that no innocent individual is harassed in false cases,” he told reporters fol-lowing a views exchange meeting with local administration officials at the Narayanganj Deputy Com-missioner’s office on Sunday.
The Home Adviser confirmed that steps are underway to withdraw false cases as quickly as possible, and that a new committee has been formed to identify and review such cases.
“We have already issued verbal instructions to all relevant authorities to act accordingly and prevent any harassment of innocent people,” he added.
In response to a question about security threats surrounding the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations, Ja-hangir Alam assured that there are no such threats at present.
To ensure a peaceful and festive celebration, the government is deploying law enforcement personnel, including police, RAB, military, BGB, and Ansar, alongside volunteers from the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, beginning August 24.
