NCC holds meet on implementation of July Nat’l Charter

The National Consensus Commission (NCC) yesterday in a meeting held comprehensive discussions with legal and constitutional experts regarding the finalization of the “July National Charter 2025”, and the methods and mechanisms for its effective implementation.
The meeting took place at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital and continued for over three hours, featuring extensive deliberations on the finalized draft of the Charter, said a press release of the commission.
Retired Justice M A Matin of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, Professor Mohammad Ikramul Haque, Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Dhaka, and Dr. Sharif Bhuiyan and Barrister Imran Siddique, Senior Advocate of Bangladesh Supreme Court joined the meeting.
The experts reviewed the draft in detail and provided comprehensive feedback on its implementation, focusing on constitutional, legal, and political dimensions.
Commission Vice Chairman Professor Ali Riaz, and members Dr. Badiul Alam Majumdar, Justice Md. Emdadul Haque, Dr. Iftekharuzzaman, Safar Raj Hossain, and Dr. Md. Ayub Miah, as well as Monir Haider, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser were present at the meeting.
The commission, in its efforts to finalize the Charter, has already held several informal meetings with political parties. As part of that process, the Commission gathered opinions from various parties and alli-ances regarding possible methods for implementing the Charter. These political viewpoints were also reviewed yesterday’s meeting.
