DU awards 22 Ph.D, 16 M.Phil degrees

Dhaka University (DU) recently awarded 16 researchers the Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) degree, 22 researchers the Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) degree, and one researcher the D.B.A. (Doctor of Business Administration) degree.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Niaz Ahmed Khan granted the degrees at the university’s latest syndicate meeting on August 27, a DU press release said yesterday.
Newly Ph.D. degrees holders are- Mohammad Shadrul Alam from the Department of Genetic Engineer-ing and Biotechnology, Muhammad Mahiuddin Sarkar from the Department of Geography and Envi-ronment, Md. Jahangir Alam and Md. Jasim Uddin from the Department of Applied Mathematics, Lipi Begum from the Department of Urdu, Reba Nargis from the Department of Political Science.
Md. Monirul Islam, Sabrina Akhtar, Sultana Begum, and Mohammad Sakhawat Hossain Bhuiyan from the Department of Information Science and Library Management, Abu Tarek Mohammad Abdullah from the Institute of Nutrition and Food Science, Md. Abdul Karim Ruman from the Institute of Modern Languages, Kalyan Mistry from the Department of Management.
Partha Pratim Sadhu from the Department of World Religions and Culture, Tushar Talukder from the Department of English, Razia Begum from the Institute of Education and Research, A. H. M. Fazle Rabbi from the Department of Physics, Md. Mahfuzur Rahman, Sabrina Shehreen, Md. Moin Uddin Ahsan Habib, and Sujan Kumar Dutta from the Department of Zoology, and Farhana Khan from the Department of Marketing.
M.Phil granted researchers are: Sabina from the Department of Urdu, Md. Abdullah Sharif and Md. Abul Kalam Azad from the Department of Islamic Studies, Md. Abdul Hakim Shah from the Depart-ment of Information Science and Library Management, Nasima Begum from the Department of Political Science, Md. Liaquat Ali and Mosammat Mahfuza Akter from the Department of Sociology, Nadia Sarwar from the Department of Theoretical and Computational Chemistry.
Moriam Sultana from the Department of Educational and Counseling Psychology, Shipra Mondal from the Institute of Social Welfare and Research, Abida Sultana from the Department of Sanskrit, Md. Sha-hidul Islam Mridha from the Department of Communication Disorders, Partha Pratim Biswas from the Department of Music, Muhammad Noman Hossain and Mashrur Ahmad from the Department of Arabic, and Fahmida Tasnim Liza from the Department of Zoology.
Jerin Marzan Khan has been awarded the DBA (Doctor of Business Administration) degree from the Department of Finance.
