The government has taken extensive programs to observe the holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi, the auspicious occasion commemorating the birth and death anniversary of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM).
The day will be observed across the country on September 6, the National Moon Sighting Committee confirmed on Sunday.
In preparation for the occasion, the government has finalized a colorful and Grand National program which was discussed at an inter-ministerial meeting chaired by Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Kha-lid Hossain, a press release said yesterday.
The meeting was attended by Religious Secretary AKM Aftab Hossain Pramanik, and Director General of the Islamic Foundation A Salam Khan along with representatives from various ministries and organi-zations.
The President and the Chief Adviser will deliver special messages in honor of the occasion.
Additionally, the national flag will be hoisted in all government, semi-government, autonomous institu-tions and private buildings, as well as military establishments across the country.
Like previous years, important areas in Dhaka will be adorned with the national flag, colorful banners and placards inscribed with ‘Kalima Tayyiba’.
The Islamic Foundation (IF) will organize several religious and cultural events, including Qiraat (recita-tion of the Quran), Hamd-Naat (praise of the Prophet), poetry recitations and a Khutba writing competi-tion in Arabic.
