Burn hurt man in Mohakhali filling station fire dies

A man who sustained severe burn injuries in a fire at a filling station in the capital’s Mohakhali area suc-cumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in the city on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Mir Hossain, 55.
He breathed his last around 3:45 pm on Saturday while receiving treatment at the institute, said Dr. Shawon Bin Rahman, resident surgeon of the facility.
Mir Hossain was admitted to the hospital’s emergency unit on the night of August 17 after suffering burns in the incident. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later shifted to the ICU, Dr. Shawon said. He had sustained burns on 45 percent of his body, the doctor added.
According to hospital sources, the fire broke out at a filling station in Mohakhali around 8:50 pm last Sunday.
Mir Hossain was rescued from the spot in critical condition and rushed to the hospital.
