A Dhaka court on Thursday accepted the chargesheet against 286 people, including deposed former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in a case over their alleged involvement in anti-state activities and an attempt to overthrow the interim government.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ariful Islam accepted the chargesheet and issued an arrest warrant against them in response to the chargesheet submitted by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
The court also set 11 September to submit the execution report of the arrest warrants.
Earlier, on 27 March 2025, CID filed a case against 73 individuals, including Sheikh Hasina, on sedition charges.
After the investigation, the chargesheet was filed against 286 persons.
According to the case statement, on 19 December last year, Sheikh Hasina and the other accused attended a Zoom meeting named “Joy Bangla Brigade.”
During the meeting, Sheikh Hasina allegedly made anti-state remarks while talking to her party activists and instructed them to overthrow the current interim government led by Prof Muhammad Yunus.
