The Election Commission (EC) will announce the roadmap for holding the next parliamentary elections next week, EC Secretary Akhtar Ahmed told reporters on Thursday afternoon.
The EC will also convene a meeting with journalists to provide details about the election plans for the stakeholders, he said while briefing reporters at the EC office in Agargaon.
The EC would also deploy teams on the grounds to collect some important data regarding 22 listed political parties, the secretary noted.
Election officials held discussions on expatriate voters on Thursday. Further discussions are needed, and the reporters would be briefed accordingly, he said.
On 6 August, Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus sent a letter to the EC, asking the constitutional body to complete all necessary preparations for holding the next general elections in February.
