Two more burn victims in the BAF training jet crash at Uttara in the capital were discharged yesterday from the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (NIBPS).
“Two more burn victims, out of 26, undergoing treatment at the burn institute were released yesterday,” Resident Surgeon Dr Shawon Bin Rahman of the NIBPS told.
Dr Shawon said with the release of two more patients they have already discharged 14 burn survivors from the burn institute.
The names of the discharged victims are Yusha, 9, a student of the Milestone School and College and its teacher Sumaiya Lorin, 40, he added.
A total of 18 victims have succumbed to their burn injuries in the institute while one died at Dhaka Med-ical College and Hospital (DMCH).
Earlier on July 21, a training fighter jet of the Bangladesh Air Force slammed into a two-storey building of the Milestone School and College due to mechanical fault minutes after taking off around 1pm, kill-ing 33, so far, Health and Family Welfare Ministry sources confirmed.
Pilot of the fighter jet Flight Lieutenant Towkir Islam also died in the crash.
