Inqilab Manch to besiege Secretariat on 3 Aug demanding July Charter

Staff Reporter:

Inqilab Manch has reiterated its warning to besiege the Bangladesh Secretariat on Sunday, unless the July Charter is published by then. The group has also called for the announcement of July Charter.

The pro-uprising group’s Spokesperson Sharif Usman Hadi issued the warning at a rally held at Shahbagh on Friday afternoon.

Another group named United People’s Bangladesh or UP Bangladesh arranged the rally with the same demands.

Without the July Declaration, the uprising participants will remain as seditionists in the eyes of the state, Hadi claimed. The Declaration is a political guideline for recognising the uprising participants, and the Charter would provide legal framework to the recognition.

Both are essential for recognising the uprising participants, Hadi claimed.

He said that UP Bangladesh, Inqilab Manch, NCP and other uprising-centric platforms have been conducting a coordinated and peaceful movement to demand the publication of July Charter and issuance of July Declaration.

However, if the government continues to avoid paying heed, Inqilab Manch would besiege the Secretariat with support from the students and other civilians, Hadi warned.
