National Consensus Commission (NCC) Vice-Chairman Professor Ali Riaz yesterday urged all to contribute for building the nation, saying for the first time since independence, a unique oppor-tunity has emerged for inclusive state-building through collective participation.
“For the first time since independence, a unique opportunity has appeared for inclusive state-building. We owe this moment to those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and it is our duty to honour their legacy. With responsibility and unwavering commitment, we must work together to shape the future of our nation,” he said.
Ali Riaz made this remark at the beginning of the discussion of the commission with Biplobi Workers’ Party at the LD Hall of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
Commission members Dr Iftekharuzzaman, Dr Badiul Alam Majumder,Safar Raj Hossain and Spe-cial Assistant to the Chief Adviser Monir Haider were present, said a PID handout.
Mentioning that different ideologies will be practiced in a democratic society, Ali Riaz said adding that “There will be differences in a democratic society, but our goal is the same.”
He added, “We are all united in the intention of creating a national charter. Our success depends on the unity of democratic forces.”
A 10-member delegation led by Saiful Haque, General Secretary of the Biplopi Workers Party, in-cluding political council members, Bonnishikha Jamali, Akbar Khan, Abu Hasan Tipu, Ansar Ali Dulal, Mir Mofazzal Hossain Mushtaq, Mahmud Hossain, and central committee members Rashida Begum, Saiful Islam, and Sheikh Mohammad Shimul participated in the discussion.
