LRC submits report to CA

Labor Reform Commission (LRC) yesterday submitted its report to Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus at the state guest house Jamuna in the capital.
The commission members handed over the report to the chief adviser at the State Guest House Jamuna here at about 12noon, Chief Adviser’s Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder told BSS.
The interim government has formed an 18-member Labor Reform Commission with Syed Sultan Uddin Ahmed, Executive Director of the Bangladesh Institute of Labor Studies (BILS), as its chief.
The commission members are – Syed Sultan Uddin Ahmed (chief), executive director of Bangladesh Institute of Labor Studies; Dr Mahfuzul Haque, former secretary at the Ministry of Labour and Em-ployment and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change; Dr Jakir Hossain, professor at the Institute of Bangladesh Studies at Rajshahi University; Tapan Dutta, president of the Chattogram divisional committee of the Bangladesh Trade Union Centre; Advocate AKM Nasim, former president of Bangladesh Labor Court Bar Association; M Kamran T Rahman, former president of Bangladesh Em-ployer Federation; Shakil Akhter Chowdhury, general secretary of Bangladesh Labor Federation; Taslima Akhter, photographer and labor movement organizer; Mustafa Al Hossain Akil; Barrister Nihad Kabir; Syed Nasim Manzur, managing director of Apex Footware Limited; Fazle Shamim Ahsan, man-aging director of Fatullah Appearls Limited; ANM Saif Uddin, member of coordination Committee of BGMEA; Faruk Ahmad, secretary general and CEO of BEF; Annana Rahman, economist; Ariful Islam, labor organizer and media activist; Anwar Hossain, president of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal; and Md Rajekuzzaman Ratan, president of Samajtrantik Sramik Front.
