Acting BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has once again demonstrated his support for innovative talent by providing additional financial assistance to Julhas Molla, the self-taught airplane builder from Manikganj.
The aid is meant for modifying and repairing the aircraft Julhas ingeniously constructed.
On behalf of Tarique Rahman, BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed handed over the cash assistance to Julhas at a function at the party chairperson’s Gulshan office in the capital on Thursday.
The event was chaired by Atikur Rahman Ruman, convener of Amra BNP Poribar and member of BNP Media Cell, and Afroza Khanam Rita, member of the BNP Chairperson’s Advisory Council and president of Manikganj district BNP, was a special guest.
After receiving the money, Julhas thanked Tarique Rahman for standing by him for the second time, demonstrating the party’s sincerity in nurturing talent.
Speaking at the programme, Salahuddin Ahmed said the programme is a symbolic manifestation of how sincere Tarique Rahman is in recognising talent. “He will continue to do so in the future as well,” he said.
The BNP leader said many talented boys and girls like Julhas in different parts of the country, including rural areas, fall behind prematurely due to the lack of state facilities and support, and thus they cannot become assets to the nation.
He said Tarique Rahman will stand by talented people who have the potential to become the country’s assets.
Salahuddin Ahmed said the acting BNP chairman has taken responsibility for many underprivileged people and distressed families through Amra BNP Poribar or under the party’s banner.
He further said their party works for the country and its people and for supporting meritorious people, regardless of whether the party is in power or not.
