Staff Reporter:
The criminals are being encouraged to commit crimes, including rape and violence against children and women due to the government’s administrative inaction, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said on Friday.
Following the 5 August changeover, the people of the country expected the rule of law to be upheld at all levels, including the grassroots.
However, the hope was dashed as administrative inaction continues to encourage criminal behaviour, Rizvi said while addressing a press conference at the party’s Nayapantal central office in Dhaka.
The Awami League government destroyed the country’s peace, social bonding and prosperity by carrying out misdeeds and misrules during the last 16 years of administration, he said.
All forms of criminal activity, including murder, abduction, land grabbing, and the abuse of children and women, have persisted due to Sheikh Hasina’s inaction, he said.
