Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed yesterday urged the lawyers to write books on jurisprudence and said books supplements life.
“I always think that books supplements life. We pass many a stage or chapter of life. If there are any imperfections or ambiguities in those stages, we cannot go back to correct those. But after completing a book, if we think that we didn’t understand any chapter clearly, we can have an op-portunity to read that afresh. By doing this, we can clear the ambiguity in this case,” he said.
The Chief Justice said these after inaugurating the 10-day annual book fair of Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) on the Supreme Court premises yesterday.
Presided over by SCBA president Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokan, the inaugural ceremony was conducted by SCBA acting secretary Md Mahfuzur Rahman (Milon).
This year, there are 48 stalls at the fair to sell books on different subjects, especially on law and legal reference, politics and children’s literature, said SCBA administrative officer Md Rabiul Ha-san.
