Nat’l Social Service Day-2025 today

National Social Service Day-2025 will be observed in the country today at the initiative of the So-cial Welfare Ministry through different programs.
This year’s theme of the day is ‘Those who have no one by their side, have social service (Nei Pashe Kew Jar, Somaj Seba Ache Tar)’.
President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus yesterday is-sued separate messages wishing success of all the programs taken on the occasion of ‘National So-cial Service Day-2025’.
In his message President Mohammed Shahabuddin underscored the need for reaching out benefits of the country’s welfare activities and development to everyone so that security for the destitute and helpless people of society can be ensured.
In his message, Chief Adviser (CA) Professor Muhammad Yunus said the Department of Social Services of the Ministry of Social Welfare is working tirelessly for the welfare and development of the country’s poverty-stricken, elderly, disadvantaged children, adolescents, widows, women who faces domestic violence, seriously ill patients and marginalized communities, including the help-less people.
It is successfully implementing social safety net programmes in Bangladesh, he added.
The Chief Adviser said this year’s theme of the day titled ‘Those who have no one by their side, have social service (Nei Pashe Kew Jar, Somaj Seba Ache Tar)’, is appropriate and time befitting.
Marking the day, Social Welfare Adviser Sharmeen S Murshid will attend an open discussion as the chief guest on Manik Mia Avenue adjacent to the National Parliament here at 9.30am today.
