BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that a state intelligence agency is working behind the scene to form a political party in the country, ahead of the next parliamentary election.
“The state intelligence agency is trying to form a political party. If the state intelligence agencies decide who gets elected, what will be the price of this sacrifice?” he said.
The BNP leader came up with the statement while addressing a discussion organised by Rajshahi University Nationalist Ex-Student Association (RUNESA) at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity in the capital on Thursday.
“There is suspicion among the public about whether there is a weak effort within this (interim) government to break the BNP,” he added.
Rizvi said the sacrifices of many parties, including the BNP, against Sheikh Hasina’s black laws cannot be denied.
The BNP leader further said there is no difference between the law created by the Awami League and the Cyber Protection Act. “There is nothing good in the route I see for the Cyber Protection Ordinance.”
About the fire incident at the Secretariat, he said the fire incident that takes place at the Secretariat just after the government seeks important documents, raises questions among the public.
Rizvi alleged that after Sheikh Hasina fled, everyone except India recognised the changed situation of the country.
“How can India, being a democratic country, shelter Sheikh Hasina? India is systematically spreading propaganda about Bangladesh. It has attempted to implement India’s policies in the country through Sheikh Hasina,” he added.
