BNP Joint Secretary General Syed Imran Saleh Prince has come down hard on Republican Donald Trump for his comments over alleged attacks on the people of the Hindu community in Bangladesh.
“It is nothing but a manifestation of the anti-nation conspiracy of the hegemonic and fallen fascist forces,” he said this while addressing a programme held at Haluaghat upazila of Mymensingh on Friday.
Expressing his party’s strong condemnation of Trump’s comments, he said, “The people irrespective of religion are committed to maintaining a harmonious bonding with each other in Bangladesh.”
In a message through his X handle, Trump, who is running again for the White House, has condemned the “barbaric violence against Hindus, Christians and other minorities who are getting attacked and looted by mobs in Bangladesh.”
Prince said former Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council leader Priya Saha informed him (Trump) about the similar attack on 17 July 17 2019 when Awami League was in power but he did not make any comments at that time.
Trump made the comments after being provoked by India and leaders of the recently ousted Awami League government, said the BNP leader.
