Qatar Charity, an international NGO, provided food packages to needy communities in Bangladesh, ben-efiting 57,970 individuals, under its two programs.
Giving priority to orphans and widows, Qatar Charity implemented “Feed the Fasting” and “Zakat al-Fitr” in 33 places across the country, a media release SAID.
As part of the Ramadan aid program, each family was provided with 42kg of foodstuff for one month – containing rice, cooking oil, sugar, lentils, dates and salt.
Under the Zakat al-Fitr, each of the targeted beneficiaries was given a 7kg food parcel.
A total of 26,470 beneficiaries from different regions received Ramadan aid while 31,500 people got Zakat al-Fitr food parcels.
