Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan yesterday inaugurated “Shaheed Ahnaf Memorial’ at BAF Shaheen College, Dhaka as the chief guest.
The memorial was built in memory of Shaheed Shafiq Uddin Ahmed Ahnaf who sacrificed his life on August 4 during the Anti-discrimination Students’ Movement, an ISPR release said.
Among others, President of the BAF Shaheen College governing body, senior officers of the Air Force, Ahnaf’s parents, younger brother, his teachers and students of the college were present at the function.
Ahnaf, a first year student of BAF Shaheen College Dhaka, was shot dead on August 4 in the capital during the Anti-discrimination Students’ Movement. The college authority earlier decided to build a memorial on the college campus in memory of Ahnaf and to observe August 4 as “Ahnaf Dibosh (Day)”.
The college authority has also decided to take all responsibilities of Ahnaf’s younger brother including full free studentship at BAF Shaheen College Dhaka, the ISPR release said adding that Ahnaf’s younger brother has already got admission in class six in the college as per decision of the governing body.
Shaheed Ahnaf Ahmed is a courageous hero. As part of the countrywide protest by the students, he took to the street and made supreme sacrifice. The sacrifice of Ahnaf will inspire the students in future to pro-test against any injustice.
