Fakhrul: Awami League will be in miserable state if it leaves power

Staff Reporter:

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the Awami League government has gone to such an extent to loot, now they think that if they lose power, then they will be in a miserable situation.

The electoral system has been destroyed, the politics and economy of this country have been completely destroyed, he said at the iftar and doa mahfil organized by the central committee of Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal at Thakurgaon Public Club ground on Friday.

He told the leaders and activists: “Today’s (Friday) conference is not for iftar, it is an event to free the country leader Begum Khaleda Zia, to bring Tarique Rahman back to the country, to withdraw false cases against 3.5 million people and to transform Bangladesh into a truly democratic state.

Addressing the prime minister, he said: “You tell that we lie all the time. What are our lies; that we say the price of rice and lentils have increased?”

Mirza Fakhrul said: “We have to unite all the forces, unite all the people, unite all the democratic people and liberate this country through the Durbar movement. The country today is on the brink of destruction, headed for a trap, the economy is doomed. Education policy has been destroyed, health policy has been destroyed.”
