People in their hundreds are thronging Bashundhara City Shopping Complex in the capital to avail themselves of exciting facilities and signature collections of renowned brands ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr and Pahela Baishakh.
The premium shopping mall of the country especially pulled in a huge crowd on Friday, a weekly holiday.
As the two festivals — Eid and Pahela Baishakh — are getting closer, the branded shops at the mart are offering special discounts on trendy outfits and lifestyle products.
This correspondent found an overwhelming crowd at the shopping mall on Friday.
Sellers were busy meeting customers’ demand with attractive offers. Popular brands such as Artisan, Yellow, BishwoRang, Le Reve and Raw Nation are offering special discounts on selected bank cards.
Talking to the Daily Sun, noted fashion designer Biblop Saha described Bashundhara City as a unique destination for fashion-conscious individuals to shop for trendy items, including Eid outfits.
“Bashundhara City is our first choice for shopping outings. From fashion outlets to eateries and Cineplex, all entities are fully organised,” said Biblop Saha, also BishwoRang proprietor.
BishwoRang is offering a complementary Star Cineplex ticket on shopping worth Tk 5,000 or more from any outlet. Visitors can also provide leisure time for their children at Toggi Fun World and experience eateries such as Food Hall or Baba Rafi outlet after shopping. Star Cineplex at Bashundhara City is a preferred theatre for movie lovers.
Raw Nation’s senior manager of marketing and operations Samia Ahmed said their outlet at Bashundhara City has become a go-to destination for shoppers looking for trendy and stylish clothes.
“We’ve brought an array of new collections for the upcoming Eid and our sales are also better compared to other outlets. One of the attractive offers is a gift box that is given to big purchasers. This is a great incentive for customers to shop more and receive an extra perk,” she told the Daily Sun.
Customers were roaming from one shop to another to find their expected outfits.
Tamjid Roshan, an undergraduate student, came to Bashundhara City along with friends to buy a Panjabi for Eid and grab a bite at the Food Court. “Shopping at Bashundhara City is always special for me. We also eat food after shopping. I’ve planned to buy an outfit from Le Reve,” he said while sharing his shopping plan.
Many shoppers managed to complete their Eid shopping over the weekend.
