The opposition Jatiya Party (JaPa) parliamentary party has nominated the party’s chairman GM Quader as its leader and senior co-chairman as its deputy leader.
The parliamentary party took the decision in its meeting held at the office of the deputy leader of the opposition in the Jatiya Sangsad on Thursday noon.
Meanwhile, JaPa secretary general Mujibul Haque Chunnu has been made chief whip of the opposition.
The party has secured victory in 11 parliamentary seats in the 12th parliamentary election held on 7 January.
It is not yet sure whether the JaPa will play role of the main opposition in the parliament as 62 independent candidates became victorious in the JS polls.
