Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq yesterday said people often get deprived of justice because of the case backlog and called for reducing public sufferings through quick justice.
“High Court sees stay orders the most. The concerned ministries or organizations can give directions to vacate these stay orders through solicitor office. It would be possible to take action about disposing of these, if the process is expedited and subsequently convey the matter to the law ministry,” he said.
The law minister said these as women deputy attorney generals and assistant attorney generals greeted him at his office for assuming the office for the third consecutive time this afternoon. Law and Justice Division Secretary Md Golam Sarwar was present at the time, among others.
Reiterating present government’s commitment to provide quick justice, the law minister spoke about different initiatives taken by the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He lauded the efforts of the Supreme Court Bar Association for implementing the ideology of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the spirit of Liberation War, saying their activities have left very important impact recently held parliamentary election for creating public opinion.
