Awami League (AL) President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has pledged to preserve the independ-ence and dignity of the judiciary and continue the measures to ensure the independence and effectiveness of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).
“The independence and dignity of the judiciary will be preserved. Measures to ensure the independence and effectiveness of the National Human Rights Commission will continue,” she said yesterday while declaring her party’s election manifesto at a city hotel ahead of the 12th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) election slated for January 7.
She said AL is always vocal about the rule of law and human rights.
“We aim to establish Bangladesh free from exploitation by eradicating social inequality, which was the dream of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, where the rule of law, fun-damental human rights, political, economic, and social equality, freedom, and justice will be ensured,” she said.
Sheikh Hasina said AL has always worked towards establishing a modern, advanced, humane, and peo-ple-friendly law and order force.
Due to this, the capacity of the law enforcement agencies has been immensely enhanced, she said.
She pledged to make smart and modern the law enforcement force of Smart Bangladesh.
