Five more people died with measles symptoms in the past 24 hours, taking the number of deaths with such symptoms to 980 this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Including 101 confirmed measles deaths, the total number of deaths from confirmed measles and measles symptoms has reached 1,081 this year.
The DGHS disclosed the figures in its regular health bulletin on Thursday.
It said five people died with measles symptoms between 8am on Wednesday and 8am on Thursday. Three of the deaths were reported in Dhaka division.
During the same period, 1,283 patients with measles or measles symptoms were admitted to hospitals across the country.
Of them, 507 were admitted in Dhaka division, 28 in Rajshahi, 156 in Sylhet, 282 in Chattogram, 130 in Barishal, 72 in Mymensingh, 103 in Khulna and nine in Rangpur.
According to DGHS data, 163,153 patients with measles symptoms have been admitted to hospitals across the country since 15 March this year. Of them, 156,744 have recovered and been discharged.
Since 15 March, the number of suspected measles cases has reached 184,632, including 20,951 confirmed cases.
