64 sadar thanas to lead ‘Zero Complaint’ policing

Staff Reporter:
In a major administrative drive to transform frontline policing and strengthen public confidence, authorities have launched an initiative to turn all 64 Sadar Thanas across the country into “Zero Complaint” police service centers.
The initiative seeks to ensure that citizens receive swift, courteous and professional services while eliminating grievances against police personnel, officials said.
“This initiative marks a significant step toward modernizing the police force and ensuring that the most vital police stations in each district serve as models of accountability and public trust,” Addi-tional Inspector General of Police Khondoker Rafiqul Islam told yesterday.
“The aim is to ensure zero complaints against police personnel,” he added.
The initiative is being implemented as part of the government’s 180-day action plan, which reflects commitments made in the BNP’s electoral pledges.
Additional Inspector General of Industrial Police Gazi Jashim Uddin said the initiative was de-signed to ensure that citizens receive the highest quality of police services with maximum efficien-cy and zero grievances.
Under the administrative plan, the authorities have adopted a series of measures to turn the Sadar Thanas into model service centres.
A key priority is ensuring professional conduct, courtesy and respectful behaviour by police per-sonnel when dealing with service seekers.
The best-performing district-level officers are being posted to Sadar Thanas to improve service standards.
The stations are also being placed under closer supervision and continuous monitoring by senior police officials, who are conducting regular inspections and reviews to ensure that services are de-livered properly.
All activities inside the police stations, including the duty officer’s room and waiting areas, are be-ing monitored through CCTV cameras.
Quick Response Teams are being kept ready round the clock to respond swiftly to emergencies, while female police officers have been assigned to receive and address complaints from women.
Authorities are also encouraging citizens to use the online General Diary (e-GD) service to make police services faster and more accessible while reducing the need for physical visits.
Information on different police services and procedures has been prominently displayed inside the stations to help service seekers easily understand and access available facilities.
Officials and personnel posted at the stations are receiving regular guidance and instructions on professional conduct and service delivery.
Senior officers are also maintaining direct oversight through regular visits and inspections to en-sure that the “Zero Complaint” initiative remains effective and that the Sadar Thanas emerge as benchmarks for citizen-friendly policing and public trust.
