Prime Minister’s Education Adviser and spokesperson of his office Dr Mahdi Amin yesterday said the SSC and equivalent examination results this year has been prepared through a fully impartial assessment of students’ actual merit and skills.
“The practice of artificially increasing pass rates, GPA-5 achievers during the previous fascist govern-ment have been completely abandoned by the current elected democratic government, ensuring an im-partial assessment that reflects students’ actual merit,” he said.
The Prime Minister’s Education Adviser made the remarks at a press conference held at the conference room of the Ministry of Education at the Secretariat yesterday while announcing the SSC and equivalent examination results.
Highlighting transparency and accountability in education, Dr Mahdi Amin said the SSC and equivalent examinations began on April 21, just two months after the formation of the current democratic govern-ment, and the government ensured fair and transparent examinations nationwide using a single question paper.
“CCTV cameras and body-worn cameras were used at examination centres to ensure transparency during the examinations. We also ensured complete impartiality and objectivity in the assessment of answer scripts through subsequent training of teachers,” he said.
“Regardless of whether the results are good or bad, we must remember that they reflect the students’ ac-tual merit,” he said.
Besides, sports, startup competition and tree-planting programmes have been introduced in educational institutions across the country to ensure a sustainable and equitable education system, he said.
He also said teachers training and facilities, the integration of sports and culture, and the proper use of technology in education were being prioritised to improve the quality of education.
The Education Adviser thanked teachers, guardians, examinees, education administrators, law enforce-ment agencies and all others concerned for ensuring the smooth completion of the examinations.
