Chattogram: Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed emphasized that the government has prioritized creating a secure and stable environment for both domestic and international investments.
“Law enforcement agencies will guarantee security throughout every phase of the project, and all neces-sary measures will be implemented to ensure a safe communication system and seamless operations,” he said.
Salahuddin Ahmed made the comments while speaking as special guest at the foundation stone laying ceremony for the China Economic and Industrial Zone (CEIZ) in Anwara, Chattogram yesterday.
The Bangladesh Economic Zone Authority (BEZA) has initiated a one-stop service aimed at fostering an investment-friendly atmosphere, he said, adding, “This initiative will provide investors with prompt ap-provals, straightforward utility connections, and essential administrative assistance. The government is dedicated to fulfilling every commitment made under the G2G agreement in a timely, transparent, and efficient manner.”
He further stated that this industrial zone will generate new opportunities for significant employment, skill enhancement, and economic growth for the local populace. “It represents not merely an industrial zone, but also a conduit for a long-term economic partnership between Bangladesh and China. This pro-ject will be pivotal in promoting sustainable industrialization and in constructing a prosperous Bangla-desh for future generations,” he added.
Additionally, the home minister said that this initiative is not solely an industrial zone, but a testament to the enduring friendship, mutual trust, and strategic partnership between Bangladesh and China. It will pave the way for new opportunities in industrial production, global supply chains, technology transfer, and the development of skilled human resources, he said.
Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, State Minister for Land Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen, BEZA Executive Chairman Chowdhury Ashiq Mahmud Bin Harun, CEIZ Chairman Wang Benchian, along with representatives from both the public and private sectors of the two countries attended the event.
