A total of 47,852 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims have so far arrived in Saudi Arabia aboard 122 Hajj flights to perform the holy pilgrimage.
Among them, 4,071 pilgrims travelled under government management, while 43,781 travelled through private agencies. The number of Bangladeshi pilgrims who have died during Hajj has so far remained at 10.
The information was disclosed in the latest Hajj bulletin published on Thursday morning.
According to the bulletin, among the deceased pilgrims, eight died in Makkah and two in Madinah. Two of the deceased were women.
The bulletin also stated that Biman Bangladesh Airlines operated 56 flights carrying 22,458 pilgrims, while Saudia transported 16,900 pilgrims on 45 flights. Another 8,494 pilgrims travelled on 21 flights operated by Flynas.
This year, a total of 78,500 pilgrims from Bangladesh have received permission to perform Hajj.
A total of 660 agencies are involved in managing Hajj operations, including 30 lead agencies and 630 coordinating agencies.
