Nadda shop fire under control

Staff Reporter:

A fire that broke out at a roadside shop beneath a foot overbridge in the Nadda area of the capital was brought under control after about 30 minutes of efforts by firefighters on Friday night.

Rashed Bin Khalid, duty officer at the Fire Service control room, said they received the report of the fire at 9:08pm. Being informed, firefighters rushed to the scene shortly afterwards and started working to contain the blaze.

Two units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence worked at the scene to contain the blaze, he said.

He, however, said no casualties were reported in this connection.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage could not be determined immediately, Khalid added.
