Int’l flights from Cox’s Bazar to start by mid-Oct

A Correspondent:

Cox’s Bazar: Air Vice-Marshal Md Mostafa Mahmud Siddiq, chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), yesterday hoped that international flights from Cox’s Bazar Airport will begin partially by mid-October this year.
“Today, we inspected the progress of the second terminal of the airport and the runway constructed over the sea. It appears that by mid-October, it will be possible to operate international flights partially from Cox’s Bazar Airport,” he said.
The CAAB chairman said this while talking with reporters after visiting the airport.
Mostafa Mahmud Siddiq said while responding to a question, “Although it is difficult to say exactly what percentage of the work of the terminal has been completed, it will be possible to start operations by mid-October.”
“We are in the final stages of preparation for that,” he added.
During the visit, Mohammad Yunus Bhuiyan, project director of Cox’s Bazar Airport, Golam Mortuza Hasan, airport manager and its other officials were present.
