Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) Chairman Md Sohorab Hossain and 12 commission members have resigned from their positions yesterday.
Public Relations Officer of BPSC Motiur Rahman confirmed yesterday evening.
He said BPSC Chairman Md Sohrab Hossain submitted his resignation letter to the secretary of the commission in the afternoon. All members, except two, have also submitted their resignations letters, he added.
Who submitted their resignations are- Faiz Ahmed, O N Siddiqa Khanam, M Shameem Ahsan, Professor Dr Uttam Kumar Saha, Zahid ur Rashid, Professor Dr Mubina Khondkar, Professor Dr Delwar Hossain, KM Ali Azam, Md Khalilur Rahman, Professor Dr Syed Md Golam Faruk, Md Maksudur Rahman Pat-wari, Dr Mst Nazmanara Khanum and Professor Dr Pradip Kumar Panday.
Two members – Helaluddin Ahmad and Md Shafiqul Islam will submit their resignation letters today.
Hafizul Haque, PS to the secretary of Bangladesh Public Service Commission Secretariat, said the resig-nation letters were under process for further procedure.
The BPSC is one of the key constitutional bodies with a clear mandate to select suitable and qualified persons to the service of the republic.
